Clay's 1st Hunting Adventure!

This is from Clay's first hunting experience with his daddy. I forgot to go back and post it. Well. . . here it is. There isn't much to tell. The pictures speak for itself. And yes, that is a real BB gun. And yes, Clay had to tee tee out of the stand.
Needless to say, the deer were save during this adventure.

Welcoming Cason Bradley Hart

Cason Bradley Hart was born Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 4:00 pm.
He weighed 6 pounds and 4 ounces and was 19.75 inches long.
He came after a smooth and quick delivery and is eating and growing
just like a healthy little boy should. We are thankful that for the
miracle that God has blessed us with.

The picture below was taken on Monday, the 3rd.

Cason was only hours old in the picture below and the picture of his feet. We had not even left the labor and delivery room yet.

Clay came to meet his brother on Monday afternoon. He wanted to see his toes.

Dad is putting him in his seat as we are getting ready to leave the hospital and head for home.

One evening at home.

The two pictures below were taken on November 8th.

Brief Update

Summer is slowly passing by and soon the time for a new school year will be here. We have had a wonderful summer. We have had several trips to the beach and made a trip to see the family in Florida. We have also enjoyed being at home. We are busy making preparations for Clay to move upstairs and we will then get the nursery ready for Baby Boy Hart # 2.

Pictured below is Clay with his set of choo choo train tracks and trains. One thing he did get this summer was two new sets of expansion track additions so we can build a grander track than before.

Salsa Thursday!

Today, Thursday June 7th, I made homemade salsa. I had the tomatoes and bought a salsa mix that is to be added to the tomatoes. Mom also gave me a salsa mix. I made a double batch.
I thought I had the pictures so they would load in order, but I didn't. The picture above is the tomatoes after they were peeled and cored. I had not added the salsa mix yet.

Above are my jars and lids sterilizing.

I boiled the tomatoes for a couple of minutes and then dipped them in cool water. After they were all boiled, I peeled and cored which is shown in the first picture.

This picture shows the salsa packets and the mix added to the tomatoes.
Of course I had not stirred them yet. I should have added some onions
and other ingredients but I was getting tired at this point.

The picture above is before the ingredients were stirred in. The below is after.

The mix had to boil and then simmer for 10 minutes before I could place it in jars for processing.

All of the jars below. Yum!

Thankfully Brad came home for lunch and was able to get the outdoor cooker going because I, and mom who stopped by for technology assistance, could not get it going.
It made it a lot easier to process them outside rather than inside. The jars had to process in boiling water for 40 minutes.
And that is the end of my salsa story. I was impressed with the mix. I think it turned out really well, although I haven't had anyone else to try it. If I get enough tomatoes, I may make more.

The End. :)

Late night beach walk turns into a swim

Leaving the condo and notice we are all dry and dressed.

We left the condo around 7:15 or 7:30 p.m.

The pictures are out of order. This is after the brief wading turned in to swimming.

Clay's truck was floating away!!

Clara does not care for the beach. Not one bit!

Of course, the three of us above. And my brother and his family below:
Garett, Ellen, Clara, and Amy. (from left to right)

Brad and Garett were playing frisbee on the beach.

Clara struck her own pose. Clay only cooperated so we could get a picture of his truck.

Clara had to be held if she were to get anywhere near the water.

Clay in his underwear. He had a blast!

We had to end the fun not long after 8:00 to get back to the condo for baths and bed.

We told the beach we will be back tomorrow.
